EGE UNIVERSITY ACCESSIBLE EGE UNIT
a. Establishment
The Presidency of the Council of Higher Education issued the "Higher Education Institutions Disabled People Consultation and Coordination Regulation", which was published in the Official Gazette dated 20 June 2006 and numbered 26204 and entered the identity information. In Article 8 of the Regulation, it is defined as "storage units in higher education institutions" and it is envisaged to be established in a university. In accordance with the regulations, on July 28, 2008, Ege University Disabled Student Unit (Accessible Ege Unit) was opened by Prof. Dr. It was established by Hatice ŞAHİN.
The aim of the Barrier-Free Aegean Unit is; To minimize the problems that disabled people will encounter due to obstacles during their education, campus and dormitory life, and to ensure cooperation between relevant parties in those excluded. Unit; It provides services to faculty and staff as well as disabled people. Additionally, our university strives to increase information about disability.
b. Support Areas of the Unit
Evaluating campus physical structure accessibility
Creating a learning environment suitable for disabled students (exams, assistant service, reading resources, etc.)
Contribution to the integration of disabled students into social life
Contribution to disabled students creating personal development plans
Organizing disability awareness trainings
Directing students to scholarship and psychological support opportunities they need
Conducting academic studies on disability
If any visible or invisible health problem prevents a student's academic or social life at Ege University, that student is "disabled".
Students' applications to the Disabled Aegean Unit are completely voluntary and the unit provides support in line with the student's request.

Offering suggestions to the student for a solution or conducting necessary discussions and transferring information in the next meeting
